BMW of Australia has announced a new speed limit detection and warning system which will use BMW sat nav data and compare your current speed with the posted speed limits in your area and then send out a warning to you if you've mistakenly gone above said limits.
How does ths system know what the speed limits are exactly? Well using cameras mounted on the side mirrors of courseOnce the camera picks up the speed limit from a road sign, the information is displayed for the driver and also sent to the OBC to compare to your current speed
This technology is a first for the Australian market, and typifies the approach BMW takes in respect to development of cutting-edge technology solutions.
